Pittsfield is rich in Lincoln history; he spent a great deal of time here beginning in the 1830’s.  In fact Lincoln and Stephen A Douglas spoke at the Pike County Courthouse yard during the senatorial campaign of 1858.

Abraham Lincoln will arrive in Pittsfield during the Color Drive by horse drawn carriage at 2pm on Saturday.  He will introduce Pike County’s own Paul Finley, our state representative from 1961-1983 and our current US Congressman Ray La Hood who both will speak briefly.

Pittsfield has 11 Lincoln sites.  Stop by the Welcome booth located on the North side of the big tent on the square for a complete listing of these homes and sites.
