The Village of Pearl once known a Pearl
Station, surveyed in September 1872 is located along the Illinois River
in the southeast corner of the county. The village was incorporated in
1881.
Pearl has three major transportation
arteries: Route 100, The Kansas City Southern Railway and the Illinois
River.
Pearl also is the home of the Twin
Culverts. They were featured on our annual postcard in 1993.
