Historical Interests

Kinderhook, Illinois is celebrating its quartoseptcentennial (175 years), and a Adirondack Chair will be featured.  The chair was originally built in the same year (1836) that Kinderhook was established, by a New York resident; the same state that discovered Kinderhook, Illinois.  Come up and celebrate our many years.  Kinderhook means "Little Children".

The photo to the right is one of the many rock walls featured by residential homes in Kinderhook.  This particular wall is by the home of James, Julie Foster and son James which displays the silhouette of the state of Illinois in white rock.  The rocks have endured the many elements through the years and enhance the village of Kinderhook.
